MDS has a number of new products and product enhancements on display at this year’s PPMA show.
For those who must meet the full Retailer Code of Practice MDS and Ceia will have their industry leading Multi Spectrum MS21 technology. This system can deliver vastly improved sensitivity using multiple frequencies simultaneously, giving an advantage over conventional multi frequency detectors.
This year the MS21 benefits from an improved Memory Test Function that has a greatly improved reject resolution. This ensures that if there is a mix of closely packed good and bad finished products passing through the detector head, only the bad items are rejected. Even on bottling lines where a good product may be touching a bad one, the good one will pass while the contaminated item is rejected, greatly reducing waste.
For those who work in the Pharmaceutical sector there will be a PH21 N Pharma system. All Ceia pharmaceutical detectors are manufactured from AISI316L and are compliant with FDA 21 part 210 and 211 requirements.
Our management software offers sophisticated networking capabilities and also meets the requirements of FDA 21 part 11. Bluetooth access can also be used for programming and monitoring of the detector performance.
Also used in pharmaceutical production, as well as food and other higher volume applications is the G series throat detector. These are available in a wide range of sizes and performance options and are suitable for many different granular and powdered products. Their design includes:

- Extremely high adaptability to any product to be inspected
- FDA Title 21CFR Part 11 Compliant: Data Security; Data Integrity; Data Traceability

- Superior Washdown Construction
Alongside the G series will be the newly designed FFV Gravity Fall metal detector with the latest “Cowbell“ reject valve. This is ideal for free falling granular products.
For textile and packaging customers MDS will have the new multi zone TE/MTZ Linear Metal Detector Array. This market leading device enhances the existing line of Ceia textile detectors by allowing ultra high sensitivity detection of metal fragments in a specific zone of a continuous sheet production line. If a contaminant is detected, its removal can be achieved with a minimum of waste as an operator will know where across the sheet the detection occurred.
